Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Last updated: May 2026
This page is provided for California residents in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.
Your Right to Opt Out
Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to opt out of the “sale” of their personal information. The CCPA defines “sale” broadly to include sharing personal information with third parties for valuable consideration — which may include our practice of sharing your service request information with contractors in our network in exchange for referral fees.
While HoardAssist does not sell personal information to data brokers, advertising networks, or marketing companies, we want to ensure California residents have a clear and easy path to exercise their opt-out rights under the law’s broad definition.
What Information This Covers
The opt-out right under this page applies to personal information we may share with third-party cleanup contractors when you submit a service request, including:
- Name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Property location or zip code
- Description of your service needs
How to Submit an Opt-Out Request
You may submit an opt-out request using any of the following method:
Use our contact form with the line “CCPA Opt-Out Request” in your message.
What Happens After You Submit
We will process your request within 15 business days. Once processed:
- Your information will not be shared with contractors in our network for lead referral purposes
- Your request will be logged and honored for a minimum of 12 months
- After 12 months, we may ask if you wish to opt back in — we will not re-enroll you automatically
Please note that if you submit a Do Not Sell request, we will be unable to connect you with a local cleanup contractor, as sharing your information with contractors is the core function of our service. If you need cleanup services, you may contact contractors in your area directly.
Additional CCPA Rights
In addition to the right to opt out of sale, California residents also have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you
- Delete personal information we have collected about you
- Non-discrimination — we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights
To exercise your right to know or right to delete, contact us or visit our full Privacy Policy.
Authorized Agents
California residents may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on their behalf. To use an authorized agent, the agent must provide written proof of authorization signed by you, and we may contact you directly to verify the request.
